Carson Walters

Carson Walters is a medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine with a strong foundation in clinical research, academic leadership, and community service. Prior to medical school, he graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, earning a 4.0 GPA as an Honors University Research Scholar.

His research focuses on orthopedic surgery and the application of artificial intelligence in medicine. He has contributed to projects investigating innovations in total shoulder arthroplasty and the future integration of AI in orthopedic trauma, collaborating closely with faculty and physicians at the University of Florida.

Alongside his research, Carson has extensive clinical experience as a Medical Assistant and Emergency Department Multi-Care Technician, where he developed skills in patient assessment, emergency care, and interdisciplinary teamwork. He also volunteers at the Equal Access Clinic, providing care for underserved populations while participating in evidence-based clinical decision-making.

Dedicated to education and mentorship, Carson has served as a peer tutor, academic mentor, and medical school ambassador. His commitment to service extends internationally through the ENGin Program, supporting English language development for Ukrainian youth, and locally through Project: Be the Light, a community initiative he founded to provide holiday gifts for children in need.
