Maya P. Haghighi

Maya Haghighi is a medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine with a strong interest in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, particularly craniofacial surgery, microsurgery, and reconstructive outcomes research. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Biochemistry from William & Mary, where she was a four-year NCAA Division I women's soccer student-athlete and team captain.

At the University of Florida, Maya is actively involved in clinical and translational research spanning plastic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and artificial intelligence applications in medicine. Her work has included retrospective clinical studies, systematic and narrative reviews, and case reports focused on improving patient outcomes and advancing surgical care. As a member of Brandon Lucke-Wold's research group, she has contributed to several neurosurgical review projects involving cerebrovascular disease and neuroendovascular therapies, and values the group's collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to research. Her long-term goal is to pursue an academic career as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, combining clinical excellence with research and medical education.
